About My Show

May13

Hello!  My name is Vivienne McNeny and I’m a true blooded Englishwoman.

You have arrived at my internet radio show, The Sociable Homeschooler, blog where I bring the stereotyping of homeschoolers to its knees by creating a unique lifestyle.

Each week I encourage like-minded parents, from all walks of life, to consider homeschooling as a brave and viable way to educate their children.  Without bashing other forms of more traditional schooling I speak about my own journey and the rewards of watching those light-bulb moments.

If you have ever wondered how people just like you manage to homeschool their children and apparently love every moment of it then this show and its attendant blogs are for you!

If you are not ready to give up the formative years of your children’s lives to a stranger then tune in every week to, The Sociable Homeschooler.

If you think homeschoolers are weird, the mere word bringing to mind Birkenstocks, jumpers, and hairy legs, then join me each week to dispel the myth.  Half my family fit the stereotype…so who cares?

If you’re curious as to how your children will react to your roles as teacher and parent listen to professionals talk with me about homeschooling.  My wide range of guests each week will offer each and every one of you someone to relate to.  Visit The Sociable Homeschooler and check out my impressive list of podcasts and guest biographies.

If you don’t think you will be able to separate your identity from your children’s and are afraid you may lose yourself by homeschooling, think again and hear me regale an array of homeschool parents who work from home while educating their children.

If you you’re afraid you’re not qualified to homeschool ask yourself, ‘do I place my child’s needs above my highest joy?’   The only tools you need are your children and a willing heart.  My weekly show will keep you up to date with what’s going on in the world of homeschooling and how parents like you are making it work.

I sip a cuppa with international guests from all walks of life.  We talk about staying on the right side of the law, choosing the best curriculum for you, careers, college, basements, God and the developing of a lifestyle.  I also jump off the deep end and invite homeschool graduates to share their side of the story!  My natter is sprinkled with light hearted banter and obscure observations from a not so ordinary family.

Come and lose all the preconceived notions you may have about home education.

Forget every excuse under the sun for not homeschooling and tune into my show and listen to a slice of life from the oxymoronic Sociable Homeschooler.
